About Me

Welcome to my Blog!  My name is Jen Jimenez and while I am new to the world of blogging, my travel adventures started at a young age.  I love to eat and drink like the locals, take in the historical sites, and still have time to people watch from a café.  I’m excited to share with you stories, advice, and anything else that will inspire you to fulfill your travel dreams.

The Cliffs Notes version of me: I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and since the city is basically in the middle of the US, it made a great starting place for family road trips and other vacations.  My passion for travel didn’t diminish once I got older, and after spending some time in Arizona and Hong Kong, I finally settled down in California, where I now call home.

A trip to London with my brother in 2006 kick-started my love of Europe, even eventually completing a trip to Barcelona and Amsterdam on my own.  I met my husband Fernando in 2009 and our travel journey started shortly after we started dating.

For us, travel is a priority.  Travel helps to open your mind, pushes your boundaries, and brings history to life.  I started Travel to There to help others experience the joy travel can bring to your life.

Safe and happy travels!

 About Travel to There

First, there is no wrong way to travel, as long as it is legal (I’ve been watching too much Locked Up Abroad)!  Whether you have a small or large budget, are going on a short or long trip, wherever you fall in the spectrum, if there’s a will, there’s a way.  Cheesy, I know, but true!

The blog was born in 2018 after years of compiling research and providing travel advice for my friends and family. In addition to travel, cooking, music, and photography hold a special place in my heart and throughout this blog, recipes and other creative outlets will help bring a destination to life.

Fernando and I love to travel, but we can’t always spend 2+ weeks away on an adventure. This blog is designed for travelers like us, who want to get out there, but want to see as much as possible with the time they have available.  We still want to be able to have time for a bite to eat, drink and talk with the locals.  Sure, that means some things will be missed, but sometimes the best stories and experiences don’t come from a checklist.

When my husband and I travel we focus on a mid-range budget for activities and accommodations.  We try to balance our budget with savings on flights, DIY travel, and getting the best deal possible on accommodations.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope this site helps you to Travel to There.

Safe and happy travels!

– Jen
